/Welcome to the Future/159/Livestreams and new releases 22-Jan 2021

Three weeks into January, Trump is gone from the White House, but things still feel pretty bleak here in the UK. Lockdown looks like it’s going to go on for a while yet, festivals are beginning to be cancelled for the summer (again), and so livestreams and waiting for new releases seem to be the order of the day for now.

/Releases out today or recently
TourDeForce / Vargtimmar /EK Product Store
Released last week, this is the new album from an Italian artist who straddles the boundaries between futurepop, EBM and industrial rock.
BICEP / Isles /Bandcamp
The rising electronic stars return with their second album.
Fïx8:Sëd8 / The Inevitable Relapse /Bandcamp
This German electro-industrial artist continues his journey into the darker, creepier reaches of the genre on his fifth release.
HORSKH / Wire /Bandcamp
This much-tipped French group return with a striking new release.
Wardruna / Kvitravn /Webstore
A long-awaited release from Wardruna, and their striking, stark sound sounds better than ever to my ears.

MONRELLA / JK FLESH / SEE RED EP /Bandcamp
Mick Harris and Justin Broadrick team up for the first time in an age, for an unexpected split EP of ferocious industrial.
Rotersand and Evendorff / Grey /Bandcamp
A gorgeous, unexpected single from Rotersand, ably assisted by Evendorff. As bleak and grey as the title might suggest, it is a brilliant song (the remixes are great, too).

/Upcoming releases announced this week

Lead single Man Alone (Can’t Stop The Fadin’) is a loose-limbed, eleven-minute epic.
26-Feb 2021 / FM Einheit / Exhibition Of A Dream /Bandcamp
An intriguing collaborative album around the idea of dreams, that could well be fascinating.
26-Mar 2021 / This Morn’ Omina / The Roots Of Saraswati /Bandcamp
The tribal-industrial powerhouse return, now with Scott Fox of iVardensphere onboard too, and going on the mighty first track released yesterday, we’re in for a treat.
26-Mar 2021 / Implant / Cognitive Dissonance /Bandcamp
Belgian industrial veterans Implant return with their new album.
26-Mar 2021 / DANIEL B. – ELKO B. / 66.6 /Bandcamp

26-Mar 2021 / Front 242 / 91 (Live in EU) /Bandcamp

Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

This weekly listing has now seen a significant overhaul and has moved over to a Shareable calendar format. The below draws direct from a GCal I’ve long maintained, and you can add it to your own calendar views if you wish (GCal link, iCal link), and then you will get dynamic updates as I get them. Otherwise, see the events listing below – click on the links to bring up the Calendar entry.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
