/Welcome to the Future/145/Livestreams and new release round-up/02-Oct 2020

We keep going amid the lockdown. There are new releases, and still, new music coming through, and buying music right now is the only way we can help. The events listing is still being updated, but obviously, an awful lot is being postponed, cancelled or changed right now.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/023, which completes the letters N and O. /transmission/024 will follow soon.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/This Week/New Releases

It’s Bandcamp Friday again today, so doubtless there will be more releases that I’ve missed. Tell me in the comments as usual.

A couple of releases that I’ve missed previously: the excellent Komische musik project involving Dirk Ivens, Motor!k, released Motor!k 2 last week, while Dean Garcia’s now long-running post-Curve project SPC ECO released 10月EP October EP yesterday.

Onto releases today: Anaal Nathrakh return with Endarkenment, while there is also the intriguing TANK EP, a split EP from Cervello Elettronico and Veldt.

Special Bandcamp Friday releases now: Empathy Test have made their previously tour-only Just Got Home: Best-of 2014-19 collection available digitally, and if you’re unfamiliar with their work, it’s about as good a primer as you could get. Acucrack have released Sorted (2020), an extensive release that “includes the “So to Speak” maxi-single Remix EP + unreleased bonus tracks + dub versions, album art and press photos”.

Then, finally, the latest reworking from Salt Peter by Ruby – a mellowed-out new take on Flippin’ Tha Bird.

/This Week/Upcoming Releases

A number of new album announcements this week.

Firstly, the long-awaited new CHANT album Hydra is out on 30-Oct, with the new Consolidated album We’re Already There following it in early November.

Then, on 13-Nov, Justin Broadrick returns to his Jesu moniker, with Terminal, the first Jesu album in some years, while Imperative Reaction confirmed Mirror after what feels like years of waiting – it’s out in January.

Finally, a reissue to make me feel very old indeed (I first heard Rammstein back in 1996 myself): Rammstein have remastered Herzeleid XXV for it’s 25th anniversary, out on 04-Dec. In the meantime, you can enjoy the glorious Win95 remake on their website!

/Upcoming/Gigs/Club Nights/Events

Obviously things have rather changed right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

This weekly listing has now seen a significant overhaul and has moved over to a Shareable calendar format. The below draws direct from a GCal I’ve long maintained, and you can add it to your own calendar views if you wish (GCal link, iCal link), and then you will get dynamic updates as I get them. Otherwise, see the events listing below – click on the links to bring up the Calendar entry.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
