Welcome to the Future: 061: Events, gigs and new release round-up 02-November 2018

Another Friday, another round-up. As always this is a look at upcoming releases, relevant music news and upcoming events and gigs worth spending some of your time at. It is by no means an exhaustive list, and I’m always on the lookout for more to include.

transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has resumed the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes here. The latest episode was released recently (transmission: 012), and transmission: 013 will be out soon. I’m currently having some issues with the podcast so please bear with me while I rebuild and get it live again.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the new Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”).

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

New and Upcoming Releases this week

A few notable releases this week.

Dead Can Dance release Dionysus, while Iszoloscope is back with All Is Immensity and Chaos, and The Prodigy have released No Tourists (which so far, from what I’ve heard, is worth it alone for the collaboration with Ho99o9).

In compilation news, my friends at I Die: You Die have released an excellent compilation Telekompilation vol. 1 for free, which covers a whole host of great artists.

Upcoming things: Boy Harsher release their second full-length album Careful in February, and the first single from it – Face the Fire – is outstanding. Excellent Belgian band Balthazar are back with their new album Fever in January, and raucous folk-punks Skinny Lister return with new album The Story Is… on 01-March 2019 – new single 38 Minutes is out now). An intriguing new collaboration is coming in December, too, with Commixture from Leæther Strip + Autoclav1.1.

Finally, with new albums on the horizon, Slipknot dropped a brutal new single this week, and Desperate Journalist also released an impressive new song.

Other Things

Two notable touring announcements in the past day or so.

Rammstein are doing a massive European tour next summer – although with only one UK (stadium) date – tickets onsale next week.

And then there are (comparatively) tiny Underworld shows at the end of the month.
