/Welcome to the Future/100/Events, gigs and new release round-up/20-Sep 2019

Friday, the end of another week – so let’s look at things to distract us, either by way of new music or events to consider. This is the usual amodelofcontrol.com round-up, of new music coming your way this week and soon, as well as a look at the events and gigs in the future, and finally nods to any other notable news that affects artists and music that I cover here.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/016, the first part of the letter L. /transmission/017 will follow soon.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/This Week/New Releases

Finally, a bit of a break from the torrent of new releases recently.

One I missed last week – Natura Est’s second release, the appropriately titled Second. Then onto this week: Kontravoid releases the hard-hitting industrial of Too Deep, Polish post-rock powerhouse Tides From Nebula are back with From Voodoo to Zen, while Cult of Luna release the astoundingly good A Dawn to Fear.

A compilation out this week – an industrial/underground tribute to The Prodigy.

Also of note – in advance of a new album coming soon, Def Neon have released single Just Do It, which has a cool video.

/This Week/Upcoming Releases

No new announcements this week, aside from the advance notice of the re-release of Deus x Machina + by The Force Dimension.

This weekly listing has now seen a significant overhaul, and has moved over to a Shareable calendar format that is embedded below. You can add it to your own calendar views if you wish (GCal link, iCal link), and then you will get dynamic updates as I get them. Otherwise see the embedded calendar below.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above.

/amodelofcontrol.com/Music News and Friday Reading

A great read: the excellent and slightly mad story of Black Box and their mega-hit Ride on Time.

While, do you like Country Music? BBC4 have an entire season coming this autumn.

Finally, in “was that still going?” news, Vampire Freaks is closing down.
