/Welcome to the Future/090/Events, gigs and new release round-up/05-Jul 2019

It’s Friday, therefore time for the usual amodelofcontrol.com round-up of new music coming your way this week and soon, as well as a look at the events and gigs in the future, and finally nods to any other notable news that affects artists and music that I cover here.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned this week, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/013, finishing off the letter I.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/This Week/New Releases

Not quite the deluge of recent weeks, but there’s still a fair bit to cover this week.

The big release – at least as far as this website is concerned, anyway – is the third album from 3TEETH. Metawar is an impressive album, too, for me a much better album than shutdown.exe was, and I’m very much looking forward to seeing them live again supporting Ministry in London tomorrow. Also out today, Abbath continues his post-Immortal career with Outstrider, and Bobby Krlic of The Haxan Cloak releases his score to the creepy-as-shit-looking film Midsommar.

There’s more: intriguing electronic artist LORN has released Drown the Traitor Within this week, while I should have mentioned this a few weeks back – another outstanding new track from Randolph & Mortimer in the form of Electronic Body Weapon 1.

/This Week/Upcoming Releases

A few long-awaited album announcments came through this week. The ever-excellent deux furieuses release their second album My War Is Your War on 18-Oct, and you can hear the first single Year of Rage now. Incidentally their new labelmate Frank Turner has announced an unexpected new album No Man’s Land on 16-Aug, and each song is about an important historical woman – a podcast series will accompany the release.

The other long-awaited new album comes from Red Box, whose new album Chase The Setting Sun is another added to the long list of releases coming on 13 Sep 2019. The rather more prolific pairing of Uniform and The Body release their latest collaboration Everything That Dies Someday Comes Back on 16-Aug.

In quite unexpected news, Raymond Watts returns to KMFDM for one song on their upcoming album PARADISE.
