Welcome to the Future: 077: Events, gigs and new release round-up 29-March 2019

It’s Friday, therefore time for the usual amodelofcontrol.com round-up of new music coming your way this week and soon, as well as a look at the events and gigs in the future, and finally nods to any other notable news that affects artists and music that I cover here.

transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – had begun the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes here. The latest episode was released a few months ago (transmission: 012). transmission: 013 will be out as soon as I have the time to rebuild the whole damned thing…

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the new Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”).

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

New and Upcoming Releases this week

Entirely unsurprisingly, the extraordinary new video from Rammstein for Deutschland caused an almighty kerfuffle when it was released last night, and much of the “criticism” appeared to come from people who hadn’t actually watched it (’twas ever thus…). Still, all publicity is good publicity, right? Well, it’s had nearly seven million views in eighteen hours… Anyway, the new, self-titled album, their first new material in a decade, is out on 17-May.

Other new releases this week: Autoclav1.1 and Tokee have teamed up for a new EP, while Beth Gibbons’ work with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (a recording of Henryk Górecki’s Symphony No. 3 (Symphony of Sorrowful Songs) is also out today, and I can’t imagine it will be happy listening.

Does he ever stop? Devin Townsend’s eighteenth album Empath is also out today.

In new material news – new Agent Side Grinder (A/X) at last, and Grimes’ new album is, it would appear, a nu-metal album about climate change.
