Welcome to the Future: 068: Events, gigs and new release round-up 18-January 2019

After the last couple of weeks – including Welcome to the Future: 066, where I wrapped up the new music coming your way in 2019, this week it is back to “normal” with the wrap-up of new music this week, and then also the usual round-up

Over the past month I’ve run through the best of 2018 in my Countdown series, you can find the links to these posts at the bottom of this post.

transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – had begun the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes here. The latest episode was released a few months ago (transmission: 012). transmission: 013 will be out as soon as I have the time to rebuild the whole damned thing…

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the new Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”).

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

New and Upcoming Releases this week

It’s been a while, but The Twilight Sad return today with their new album It Won/t Be Like This All The Time. While London band Khaidian release Penumbra today, too.

While LCD Soundsystem are releasing Electric Lady Sessions next month, and I have to confess that I didn’t realise In Flames were still going.

Other Music News

I should have mentioned this last week, but a notable change is that Ant-Zen go digital-only next month.

While one notable hiatus is Katatonia, I can only hope they return.

Two notable reformations – Bikini Kill have unexpectedly announced dates in the US, while another early-nineties band I love are also returning, in the form of Jawbox.
