Welcome to the Future: 058: Events, gigs and new release round-up 05-October 2018

Another Friday, another round-up. As always this is a look at upcoming releases, relevant music news and upcoming events and gigs worth spending some of your time at. It is by no means an exhaustive list, and I’m always on the lookout for more to include.

transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has resumed the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes here. The latest episode was released recently (transmission: 012), and transmission: 013 will be out soon. I’m currently having some issues with the podcast so please bear with me while I rebuild and get it live again.

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the new Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”).

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

New and Upcoming Releases this week

Another whole bunch of releases this week.

Firstly, Author & Punisher releases Beastland, while Behemoth are back with their first album in a few years in the form of I Loved You at Your Darkest.

An impressive electronic release comes from Reptilicus & Senking (Unison), while twin releases on Metropolis today come from A Primitive Evolution (Becoming) and Electric Six (Bride of the Devil).

In addition, twin re-releases out today are the excellent C-Tec remasters (which sound amazing) – Darker and Cut.

There are various upcoming releases to mention, too. Out at the end of the month on ant-zen are new releases from iszoloscope (all is immensity and chaos) and Synapscape (Still), while on Dependent, the debut from Radioakivists is finally coming in the form of Radioakt One.

There’s more. STRVNGERS have released an unexpected cover version, while intriguing Manchester band St Lucifer have a new EP Crucible out on 26-Oct. St Vincent releases a “stripped down” version of her latest album as Masseducation (note the difference in spelling) soon (the version of Savior on the link is striking and great), while there is a hardcore-punk supergroup coming fronted by Sara from Youth Code.

Finally, two expensive-looking box-set releases come in time for Christmas: a whole host of Kate Bush re-issues and a Carter USM boxset.
