Christ, this year is speeding past. As we near the middle of the year (and Daisy's birthday, followed by mine a month later), it feels like I've not done as much as I wanted to in 2013, so I've got some catching up to do on a number of fronts.

I've looked at this kind of thing before, but from a different viewpoint (Tuesday Ten: 024), where bands changed direction decisively for what they would likely protest is "artistic reasons".

During my recent Depeche Mode live review, I noted that they were one of those bands that I'd been waiting a long, long time to see, and indeed, over the past few years, I've made considerable inroads into a long list of similar bands.

Usually, I guess, when you emigrate to the other side of the world, and start a new life 10,500 miles from your home city, continuing your existing band/musical project may not be high on the list of priorities as you settle down.

A shorter break between posts this time, as I try and get back into the rhythm of doing more of my thing, and not being dragged down by work all the time. And at least for now, it seems to be working, I'm somewhat happier, I'm trying not to get too stressed at work, and I can relax out of the office (as I've done this evening, with a post-work pint and food in the company of and ).
