Tuesday Ten: 153: Tracks of the Month (March 2012)

I guess last week’s repackaging Tuesday Ten was kinda apt, seeing as this past week has marked five years of my Tuesday Ten series. That is five years of me carping on about music in various forms. And seeing as I’m not out of ideas yet for the series, they will keep on coming. So, on with this week. Read more “Tuesday Ten: 153: Tracks of the Month (March 2012)”

Countdown: 1990s: Tracks: 200-181

This was really meant to be a top 100, but when my girlfriend and I pulled together an initial “long list” a few weeks ago, that was way beyond 300 songs. Read more “Countdown: 1990s: Tracks: 200-181”

Countdown: 2008: Albums

Right, time for week three of my rundown of the best music of 2008. This week it's the best albums of 2008 as I see it. 2008 is the first year in a while where I didn't have a particular album in mind for the top spot for some months before the list – although that isn't to say that there hasn't been a lot of good releases this year. In fact there have been quite a few, and this list was a lot harder to compile than I thought it might be! Obviously, not everyone will agree with my list – feel free to let me know what you think in the comments and indeed what your favourites are in the comments. Read more “Countdown: 2008: Albums”

Tuesday Ten: 051: Metal Videos (that won’t make it to MTV2)

It’s Metal Week on MTV2 this week (presumably due to the new Metallica album release this week), and it has resulted in various things being played that I’ve not heard in bloody ages. However, the list of metal bands that they are playing is depressingly narrow, and missing a large number of quite obvious bands. Outlets for Metal videos are surprisingly small now, which is perhaps why many bands simply don’t bother. Read more “Tuesday Ten: 051: Metal Videos (that won’t make it to MTV2)”

Into the Pit: 067: Meshuggah – Live at Corporation Sheffield – 10-September 2008

This was my first gig at Corporation in some time, and with it being up against what turned out to be a surprisingly easy win for the England national Football Team, it perhaps wasn’t as busy as might have been expected. Still, after two cancellations in the past year, it was nice to finally get the opportunity to see Meshuggah live.

Tuesday Ten: 032: Tracks of the Month (February 2008)

After a few weeks off from writing the Tuesday Ten, it's time for it to return. I canned last week's one after I simply couldn't get it to work properly, so this week I'm on more familiar ground with a roundup of ten of my favourite tracks of the month. So here goes… Read more “Tuesday Ten: 032: Tracks of the Month (February 2008)”

Tuesday Ten: 012: tcf and Stormblast top fives

So, this week's Tuesday Ten. It's kinda ended up as a Tuesday Twenty, in fact. Let me explain…After the apparent controversy of a negative list last week, it's time for something rather more positive. So what did I settle on? Well, I recently passed three years of having tcf in Sheffield (at the same venue for all that time, too), so in celebration-ish, here are the top five played from each of tcf and Stormblast (although to clarify, these include every set ever recorded on my website, but the general pattern is the same).
