Another week, and in particular one week closer to Whitby (which we head up to next Thursday). I’m undecided if there will be a post next Friday or not, it all depends on how good my data service is (or whether our cottage has WiFi) – connections remain rather sketchy in the North Yorkshire town. […]
Back around to another Friday already, hurtling deep into Autumn here in the UK, with Christmas already looming on the horizon. But enough of distant holidays, let us talk about the music that is around right now, and there is a lot of it this week.
This past week has been one where I’ve (once again) not written quite as much as I’d have liked. I did write about the amazing Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds show from last weekend (see the link at the end), and there are a few new interviews and reviews now in the works, though.
It has, to be fair, been a tough week. The loss of an old friend has hit a number of us surprisingly hard, but the happy memories being posted in the past few days have helped an awful lot. That and illness doing the rounds has made for a slog of a week that at […]
This week’s update comes to you fresh from amodelofcontrol.com attending it’s thirty-first gig of 2017 last night, which was the long-awaited London return of ex-Mansun frontman Paul Draper, at The Scala. It was notable for a few reasons, not least how long it is since he last toured (with Mansun), and how good the show […]
Welcome to the seventh edition of this now-regular weekly round-up of music news, releases, events and happenings that might be of interest to the readers of amodelofcontrol.com. This is, of course, a perhaps selective list, as I can’t cover everything, but if I’m missing anything obvious, please let me know (details below on how to […]
Another Friday, another round-up. As is now usual, this will include the new releases this week, other announcements, upcoming events, and other items that are worth hearing about, as well as an update on what has been new on amodelofcontrol.com this week.
A new month, and I resume my now regular weekly roundup of musical items of interest. As is now usual, this will include the new releases this week, other announcements, upcoming events, and other items that are worth hearing about, as well as an update on what has been new on amodelofcontrol.com this week. There […]
By necessity a shorter post this week, as I’m writing this from the train journey north to Infest in Bradford. Needless to say amodelofcontrol.com will be reporting from the festival with a full review and photos after the weekend, but there may also be other coverage as we go on, on Facebook, Twitter (@amodelofcontrol) and […]
Welcome to the third weekly round-up of new music, forthcoming release announcements, upcoming gigs and clubs, and other things that might be worthy of note within the realm of music that amodelofcontrol.com covers.
Here we are with week two of my musical round-up. As I explained last week, this will be a weekly post on a Friday that will wrap up relevant new releases that week, newly announced releases coming in the near future, newly announced gigs of note, and also upcoming gigs/clubs over the next few weeks […]
There have been a few comments recently about how difficult it is to keep up with new releases, new tours, and general music news (I have the same problem) – particularly in the UK, as various sites in Europe and North America are already pretty good for this in our scene. (Release Magazine in Europe, […]
What has become affectionately known as #industrialsummercamp kicked off this weekend just gone with Terminus in Calgary. It has become something of a thing in recent years that I usually try and make at least one of the North American festivals (Festival Kinetik (Montréal) in 2011, then Cold Waves (Chicago) in 2014, 2015 and 2016), […]
Thanks to the kind folks at audiotrauma, you can get an exclusive listen today to the quite great new album from Atonalist.
2017 on amodelofcontrol.com begins with a look at what’s to come in the realm of music that I cover.
I’ve done this for a good many years now, and 2016 will be no exception – a round-up of confirmed and potential releases relevant to amodelofcontrol.com and it’s readers. This is by no means an exhaustive list, and some may not be announced yet. Indeed, some of those announced already may change, or those that […]
An exclusive for amodelofcontrol.com – Randolph & Mortimer's brand new video, created by Meat Cassette.
